A straight answer
What does a driveway or patio cost in Buckinghamshire?
Most contractors will tell you 'prices vary, call us'. We'd rather you walked into a quote knowing roughly where you stand. These are broad, illustrative starting-from guides for driveway, patio and landscaping work across Beaconsfield, Gerrards Cross, Marlow and the wider county — not fixed prices, and not a quote — and every site visit and quote is free.
Gravel & shingle driveways
from around £3,000
A decorative gravel or shingle drive on a firm, membraned and edged base — the most affordable, quick-draining way to a smart new driveway. Priced mainly by area, ground preparation and how much edging and drainage the plot needs.
Tarmac & resurfacing
from around £4,000
A smooth, even tarmac driveway or surface laid to falls on a compacted base, or the resurfacing of a tired, cracked existing drive. A hard-wearing, cost-effective finish, priced by area, ground conditions and edging.
Block paving & patios
from around £6,000
A block-paved driveway or an Indian-sandstone or porcelain patio — excavated, based, edged and laid to falls on a proper sub-base. Cost is driven mainly by the area, the surface you choose and how much groundwork the base needs underneath, the part that decides whether it lasts.
Full garden landscaping
from around £15,000
Clearance, levels, drainage, retaining walls, paving, steps, fencing and turf designed and built as one scheme — really several jobs in one, usually over several days to a couple of weeks. The widest range; we break the quote down clearly so you can see where the money goes.
What moves the price
- The size of the area and how much of it we're changing.
- Ground conditions — levels, slope, drainage and what's underneath the surface.
- The surface you choose — gravel, tarmac, block paving, sandstone or porcelain.
- Access to the site for machinery and for taking spoil and waste away.
- Whether any drainage, edgings or retaining walls are needed to build it to last.
- Whether you'd like turf, planting or fencing to finish the scheme.
